ビートニクの詩人として後世にも大きな影響を残している詩人アレン・ギンズバーグ。彼がボブ・ディランからプレゼントされた携帯用リール・トゥ・リール・ウーハーにナレーションを入れて、詩作の新しい方法を模索しながらアメリカを横断した1965年から1971年までの作品を収めている詩集『THE FALL OF AMERICA: Poems of These States 1965-1971(アメリカの没落)』の50周年記念プロジェクトに坂本慎太郎が参加している。
このプロジェクトは、 『The Fall of America: Poems of these States 1965-1971”』を参加アーティストがそれぞれ音楽的に解釈した楽曲コンピレーションで、Ed Sanders, Yo La Tengo, 坂本慎太郎, Angelique Kidjo, Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Handsome Family, Devendra Banhart, Bill Frisellなどが参加している。
2/5(金) にbandcampなどでデジタル先行リリースとなるこの作品は、HeadCount.Orgへの慈善プロジェクトとなっている。
