昨年リリースのアルバム『Dentsu 2060』も話題を呼んだTasho Ishiが新曲“I allways still yakuza（director's cut)”をBandcampにてデジタルリリースした。
今回のリリースはPANからのリリースでも知られるスウェーデンのクラブイノベーターToxeのプロジェクト『600 sec』の一環として行われ、Bandcampの収益がNAACP Legal Fundに全額寄付される6月19日に合わせてデジタルリリース。それに合わせてTasho IshiのBandcampページも新たに開設された。この曲ではソフィア・コッポラの映画『ロスト・イン・トランスレーション』にも登場する、新宿の高層ホテルパークハイアット東京52階のバーで友人と交わした会話をフィールドレコーディングしている。「I allways still yakuza」というボイスのリフレインが印象的な楽曲だ。
Summer 2016,
We met up at the west exit of Shinjuku station. We, meaning : ‘L’ a visiting musician from Italy, ‘C’ an American visual artist, and the local usuals, ‘K’, ‘A’, ’S’ and myself.
Soon after the last person arrived, we walked to Park Hyatt Tokyo, a tall hotel in Shinjuku.Our destination is the ‘iconic’ bar on the 52nd floor, a bar that people may have seen in the movie, Lost in Translation.
It’s a perfect place to enjoy the Empire-State-Building-like night view, when you don’t have time to go to NYC.We ordered some cocktails with prestigious names, such as Rossini, named after a master Italian baroque composer who composed the world renown, La gazza ladra, in early 19th century. Or, Doyenné du comice, which means, “The Long Lost Pear.”
L and I can’t drink so we just ordered soft drinks.
Once we all got chit-chaty, I secretly pressed the REC button on my SONY PCM-D50, my excellent handy recorder, and left it running on the side of the table…
Unexpectedly, L started to chant in his Italian accented English, “I Allways still yakuza I Allways still yakuza I Allways still yakuza...”
