先日Complex誌でKanye Westの歴代アルバムをランク付けする企画記事が公開された。アルバム『The Life Of Pablo』が今年2月に一周年を迎えるのに先立ち、7枚のスタジオアルバムと2枚の共同アルバムから成るKanye Westの豊穣なカタログを振り返るのが狙いとなっている。そのランキングに対して、Kanye Westの大ファンであるChance The Rapperが自分でもランキングを制作し発表した。
Complex誌によるランキングは以下の通り。

Kanye Westと同じシカゴ出身のChance the Rapperは該当記事のヘッダーのアートワークに感銘を受けながらも、『Late Registration』が下位にランク付けされているのには納得できなかったよう。Chanceは自身でランキングをTwitter上に投稿した。

ソウルレコードを大胆にサンプリング&ピッチアップしたサウンドと伸びやかな作風が持ち味で、ラッパー/プロデューサーKanye Westの存在を世に知らしめた1st、2ndアルバムがトップを飾った。
Chance the Rapperは、自身のブレイクを決定づけたミックステープ『Acip Rap』の1曲目 “Good Ass Intro”[1]
でもKanye West "Freshmen Adjustment 2 Intro" (Kanye Westの未発表楽曲をコンパイルした2006年発表『Freshmen Adjustment 2』収録) をサンプリングしており、『The College Dropout』～『Late Registration』期のKanye作品に対してより一層特別な思い入れをもっていることがうかがえる。
一方で、"Ultralight Beam"、"Famous"、"Feedback"、"Waves"で自身も客演/ソングライティング参加した『The Life of Pablo』や、『808s & Heartbreak』、『Yeezus』といった実験色の濃い作品は下位に留まった。
